    Char Dham Yatra is the most important Hindu religious path in the Himalayas, which is found in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand state, in the past which was part of Uttar Pradesh. The path passes through four Hindu pilgrimage destination – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Badrinath is also one of the four seats of a larger Vaishnava pilgrimage route Char Dham.

    Char Dham Yatra was originally called the popular pilgrimage path in the four holy places of Hinduism, positioned at opposite ends of the Indian subcontinent Puri, Rameshvaram, Dwarka, and Badrinath. It is believed that the custom of pilgrimage to Char Dham, a Hindu truth-seeker and started the 8th-century reformer Shankara. Only later, the last of the four sites Char Dham, Badrinath, a holy place has become a main Himalayan pilgrimage path that became known as “Char Dham“.

    day 1 – Haridwar – Barkot (220kms/7-8 Hrs)

    Arrival at Haridwar, do Ganga arti and drive to Barkot via Dehradun & Mussoorie. En-route visit Kempty Fall and later drive to Barkot . On arrival check-in the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at hotel.

    day 2 – Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (45 Kms road/ 6kms Trek)

    After breakfast proceed to Yamunotri, Drive to Jankichatti from there you will start your trek route either by walk or pony/doli (at own cost). On arrival at Yamunotri take blessings of Mata Yamuna and for prashad you can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot water of the kund and later trek down to Jankichatti and then drive back to Barkot for overnight stay.

    day 3 – Barkot – Uttarkashi (90kms/4hrs)

    After breakfast drive to Uttarkashi, on arrival check-in the hotel and later visit Kashi Vishwanath temple. Overnight stay at hotel.

    day 4 – Uttarkashi – Gangotri – uttarkashi (100kms/4hrs)

    After breakfast drive to Gangotri, on arrival have a holy dip in river Bhagirathi at Gangotri. Later drive back to Uttarkashi en route visit Gangnani & Harsil. Overnight stay at hotel

    day 5 – Uttarkashi – Guptkashi (210 Kms / 6 Hrs)

    After early morning breakfast check out from the hotel and drive for Guptkashi. On arrival check in at hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the Guptkashi town. Dinner and Overnight stay in Guptkashi hotel.

    day 6 – Guptkashi – Kedarnath – guptkashi (19 kms Trek/6 Hrs)

    After early breakfast drive to Phatta Helipad or . Departure by Helicopter to Kedarnath or by pony/trek. Visit Kedarnath Temple and return back to Phatta by Helicopter. Later, drive to Guptkashi. Back to hotel for overnight stay.

    day 7 – Guptakashi – Joshimath (170 Kms / 6 Hrs)

    After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and drive to Joshimath. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

    day 8 – joshimath- badrinath – joshimath (44 Kms drive one way/ 2 Hrs)

    After breakfast, early drive to Badrinath. On arrival, take Darshan of Badrivishal and take bath in Taptkund and visit Brahma Kapal, Charanpaduka, Narad Kund, Mata Murty Temple, Mana Village, Vasundhara, Bhim Pul, Vyas Gufa. Late evening back to Joshimath for overnight stay.

    day 9 – joshimath – rishikesh – haridwar (275 kms/8hrs)

    After breakfast and early checkout from the hotel and you will be transfer to Haridwar. On,arrival drop you at the at Railway station for onwards destination.

    Note: you can go for rafting (at your own cost) and visit Ram Jhula & Laxman Jhula.

    Cancellation Policy:

    • If the reservation is cancelled between 30 to 20 days prior to the date of arrival – 75% of the total amount would be refunded.
    • If the reservation is cancelled between 19 to 10 days prior to the date of arrival – 25% of the total amount would be refunded.
    • If the reservation is cancelled between 9 days or less to the tour, then no refund.

    Equipment & Gears

    1. Carry your routine medicines, as you might find only limited and general medicine at such remote locations.
    2. Carry heavy woollen clothes to protect from cold weather during the month of October-November and carry moderate woollen during Summer Season.
    3. Do carry creams, moisturizers, sunscreen creams.
    4. Alcohol or non-vegetarian food is not permitted during Char Dham Yatra Tour.
    5. Drink packaged water or boiled water only.
    6. Carry woollen Blanket, an umbrella, Raincoat, Torchlight, minimum luggage and canvas shoes with you. You can carry woollen sweater, monkey cap and muffler, which will enable you to with-stand cold winds, at the upper level of Himalayas.

    Is Chardham Yatra Completely Safe Now?

    Char Dham in fact the Kedarnath Temple has faced the gruesome flash floods in 2013. After the natural calamity the government has worked incessantly for pilgrims to have a safe and soulful journey. You can embark on the Char Dham Yatra 2017 without worries.

    Is Medical Certificate is Required?

    Medical certificate is required for Char Dham Yatra as the route is through high altitudes and requires long hours of trekking. There will be a thorough medical checkup of all pilgrims to get registered Yatri passes for Charm Dham.

    Age Limit for Yatris?

    There is no fixed age limit for Char Dham Yatris. As the yatra will pass through high altitudes, and there is a lot walking therefore preferred age bracket is between 7-65 years of age.
