Har ki Doon Valley (also written as Har ki Dun Valley) offers an amazing trail for nature lovers. Har ki Doon is a cradle shaped valley in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand and is approachable only by foot. A beautiful trail through remote villages, riverside meadows and wildlife-rich (both fauna and flora) Govind Pashu Vihar Wildlife Sanctuary, takes us to this very beautiful valley which serves as a basecamp for scaling Swargarohini Peak (21,000 ft.) The legend goes that in Mahabharata, Pandavas went to heaven through this mountain and hence it gets her name! Har ki Dun, which literally means Meadow Valley of Gods is situated at the base of Fateh Parvat and is surrounded by dense pine forest and rising mountains.

The departure starts from Dehradun where the whole group meets and we drive to Sankri which is our basecamp for this trek. Our 6-day trek is a paradise for bird-watchers, photographers and nature lovers who are sure to be awestruck by this nature's marvel. The trek is a little over 75 kms but is relatively easy to moderate in terms of physical requirements. The trek passes through villages Taluka, Osla and also gives you chance to reach the Jaundhar Glacier (hike from Har ki Doon valley). We trek back through the same route and drive back to Dehradun on 8th Day to end our memorable adventure.

This trek also gives you chance to witness local population which thrives on farming of rice and charas! All in all, it has to be on your travel list without doubt.
